- Does it wash clothes well?
Yes. The tumble action of a front loader lifts the clothes in and out of the water hundreds of times during the cycle. This action cleans and rinses the clothes better and is more gentle on the fabric.
- How large a load can the machine do?
For just the wash, about 13 pounds for dry clothes.
For wash and dry, 8-10 pounds of dry clothes.
- What type of detergent can be used?
A low sudsing detergent (ALL or Fresh Start) (Tide is high suds)
- How much detergent is used per wash?
1 to 2 tablespoons. No more! Big savings!
- Can fabric softener be used?
Yes. We recommend using fabric softener because it helps in the dry cycle.
- Can bleach be used?
Yes. Bleach as well as fabric softener have their own compartments in the dispenser drawer. Simply add bleach or softener before starting the wash.
- How much water is used?
13 to 16 gallons compared to 30 gallons on the current American made front loaders and 40 to 60 gallons in top loaders.
- Is it energy efficient?
Yes. Because the washer uses 50% less water, your hot water heater does not use as much energy. Also, it uses only 1.4 kilowatts per hour during the drying cycle as opposed to 5 - 5.5 kilowatts per hour for a regular dryer.
- Does the dryer need to be vented?
No. The dryer has a condensation drying system in which the hot air is condensed into liquid and then pumped out of the discharge hose.
- Can the door be opened during the drying cycle?
Although you can open the door during the drying cycle, we advise you not to because it takes time to heat the air to the proper temperature. This means longer drying time.
- Can I take clothes out after the wash cycle?
Yes. Clothes can be taken out after the wash cycle and hung out on the line. If you still want to dry some of the clothes, set the dryer timer and start the cycle half way on the spin cycle for this is when the heating elements turn on when the dryer timer is set.
- Does the washer/dryer require special wiring?
No. Just 115 volt, 15 amp standard wiring.
- Is there humidity blowing into the room?
No. The machine is completely sealed which means no air intake, no air outflow.
- Does the washer/dryer require any special plumbing?
No. The discharge hose is 3/4 inches so standpipe should be at least 1 1/4 inches.
- Can the washer/dryer be raised off the floor?
Yes. The base must be level and made of very sturdy construction.
- How long does it take to wash and dry a load of clothes?
The amount of time it takes depends on the type and size of the load (delicate, permanent press, cottons ). The average time on regular wash is 1 3/4 to 2 1/4 hours.
